Lawrence, KS - For the second year in a row, Heart Of America Athletic Conference Commissioner and NAIA Supervisor of Officials Larry Lady has brought some of the best college basketball officials, coordinators and clinicians together at The Jayhawk Invitational at The University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas to provide an unmatched tournament experience for student players and referee campers alike.

In Lawrence this week, Lady once again combined one of his signature referee camps with the Jayhawk Invitational to bring together some of the best up and coming basketball referees in the nation and student basketball players from all over the country to provide a tournament experience that gives referees the chance to hone their skills as well as the opportunity for young athletes to play in tournament games officiated by some great referees. In 2008 Lady partnered with The existing Jayhawk Invitational to up the game for the tournament by providing high caliber referees. Officials from all over the country lined up to participate in the camp knowing they would not only have the chance to referee some great basketball but also be seen officiating by some of the top coordinators and clinicians in the country.

Clinicians and observers included Big 12 Associate Commissioner John Underwood, Observer/NCAA Regional Officiating Advisor Tynes Hildebrand, NCAA Division I Coordinators Sam Lickliter, Dale Kelley, and Jim "Boomer" Bain, as well as veteran NAIA and HAAC Championship Basketball Tournament Official Terry Oglesby and many others. With more than 90 AAU Elite basketball teams from around the country converging on Lawrence for the tournament, Lady's efforts to bring in some of the best referees around gave the teams the opportunity to participate in a tournament refereed by professionals who really know their game. The young basketball players had the opportunity to have their games officiated by referees with real high level experience making the games and the tournament stronger and more competetive.

Lady, who has been running basketball and referee camps for the past 22 years has become known for his ability to provide one of the best camp experiences for college basketball officials in the US. He brings in the top clinicians and the best referee campers from across the country looking to move up the ladder, perfect their skills and have their work seen by the coordinators staffing national tournaments at all levels. Lady's campers have gone on to work at the highest levels of college ball including NAIA and NCAA Final Fours.
